10% of the days total sales will be donated to: Ramps and Alleys Clubhouse
Mission Statement: Ramps and Alleys Clubhouse is dedicated to providing a safe, fun hang out for the youth of Chaffee County. Our mission is to offer educational, recreational and therapeutic activities while promoting healthy life styles and building positive relationships.
Location:
Ramps and Alleys Clubhouse is located at 645 E. Rainbow Blvd (hwy 50) in Salida. The clubhouse will be used by residents in Chaffee County and surrounding counties. The clubhouse is located across from the middle school, high school and Boys and Girls Club.
Project Description:
Ramps and Alleys Clubhouse operates under the Ark Valley High Rollers non profit. The club has partnered with community programs such as the Boys and Girls Club of Chaffee County, Family and Youth Initiatives and Salida Rotary.
The community clubhouse will provide a mini indoor skatepark, a courtyard for outdoor activities, an arts and crafts area and a classroom for local non profits and community programs to utilize for meetings, fundraisers and events. Although the clubhouse will be open to anyone, it will specifically target the youth of Chaffee County.
Partner programs will be able to use the space for a variety of needs such as teen nights, drug prevention classes and tutoring programs.
The overall goal is to create an environment that is youth driven. A place that the youth in our community will want to hang out on their own schedule and not just a place for organized programs.
The initial phase of the project will require building materials to repair and remodel the space to accommodate the needs of the clubhouse. Repairs include updated insulation, concrete floor crack filler and sealer, paint for walls and floors and better lighting. The remodel will consist of lumber for the mini indoor skate park and the outdoor ramp and landscaping materials.
Our lead architect for the mini skatepark, Nick Merchlewitz from Fish Builders, has priced out the ramp/box/rails and is volunteering his time to install.
We are asking for sponsors to donate towards the cost of materials for this space. It is a community space so we will NOT be charging kids to come skate, it's an open hang out and a place for classes, especially during winter.
Courtyard Ramp: 5' Ramp -$4,500
Ramp deck- $500
Shade structure- $200
Total: $5,200
Indoor Park- 2' Mini Ramp- $1,200

Phase two will consist of acquiring tables, chairs, couchs, whiteboards, kitchen supplies, shop tools, storage cubbies and general decorating. Once the start-up of the clubhouse is complete, the project will rely on general operating costs to function. Costs such as rent, utilities, skate park maintenance, art supplies, project materials, advertising, marketing and insurance.
The implementation of this project will rely heavily on volunteer hours and community service efforts. The clubhouse is available to start the repairs and remodel right now. We are aiming to complete phase one and two over the next two months and continue the life-cycle of the project for years to come. Upon success of this project we expect to fulfill our mission and see an increase in the positivism of our community. Our programs have already proven to have a direct impact in keeping kids out of trouble, decreasing drug use, boosting self esteem, teaching leadership and increasing a healthier lifestyle.
