Mission Statement: We believe alternative education is an educational option that honors individualized paths to success through a personalized, rigorous curriculum designed around the needs, aspirations and creativity of every student.

Organization Info: Not everyone fits into a traditional school, as individual needs can vary greatly between students. At Horizons, all students develop an individualized learning plan in which their goals and aspirations are the center most aspect. From there, they develop a plan to graduate not just with the required classes, but with a solid foundation that they can take with them.

Additionally, students at Horizons have freedom to take classes three different ways. (1) Online education, blended with one-on-one evaluations. (2) Teacher led module classes that focus intensely in a subject area, and (3) independent study in which students present a plan, develop it, implement it, and demonstrate what they learned.

Horizons Exploratory Academy isn’t for everyone, but for students who seek and need freedom of education, it is a school that challenges students at all skill levels.
