At Moonlight Pizza & Brewpub, we’re passionate about supporting sustainability and clean energy, and Ark Valley Energy Future (AVEF) is working hard to make that vision a reality in the Upper Arkansas Valley. Their mission is to drive the region toward a more sustainable, independent, and affordable energy future, benefiting both the environment and local communities.

Who They Are

AVEF is a grassroots organization working to promote cleaner energy solutions, including solar energy, electric vehicles, and energy storage, with a focus on local generation. By increasing energy independence and improving grid resilience, they aim to boost the local economy while protecting the environment for future generations.

What They’re Up To

AVEF has been actively working to educate the community and promote clean energy:

They’ve sponsored virtual educational events on topics such as electric vehicles, solar energy, battery storage, and more, available on their Education Channel.
They participated in the Mountain Mania Car Show, showcasing electric and hybrid vehicles.
AVEF helps organize the annual Ark Valley Green Homes Tour, promoting sustainable living solutions in Salida and Buena Vista.

Where the Moonlight Monday Funds Go

Funds raised during their Moonlight Monday will support their advocacy efforts, educational materials, and website hosting costs, all of which help spread the word about clean energy solutions in the Upper Arkansas Valley. Moonlight Pizza & Brewpub is proud to support their mission, helping to make the region's energy future greener and more independent.

What’s Next for Ark Valley Energy Future?

Looking ahead to 2025, AVEF plans to remain involved in the Mountain Mania Car Show, the Ark Valley Green Homes Tour, and continue hosting virtual webinars. They are also exploring opportunities to engage with local schools and present on green energy topics of interest.

Want to get involved? AVEF welcomes volunteers with a passion for clean energy or expertise in technology, marketing, or social media. They are also recruiting for Board of Directors positions and foresee opportunities to assist with the upcoming SDCEA Board of Directors election in early 2025.
