Colorado Tick-Borne Disease Awareness Association (COTBDAA)
At Moonlight Pizza & Brewpub, we’re all about supporting local organizations that make a difference in our community. Colorado Tick-Borne Disease Awareness Association (COTBDAA) is one of those groups, working hard to spread awareness about Lyme and other tick-borne diseases while offering support and resources to those affected.
Who They Are
Founded in August 2016, COTBDAA is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to educating the public about Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. Their mission is to raise awareness for prevention, provide patient support, and advocate for better diagnostics and treatment across the state. Collaborating with organizations like Chaffee County Public Health, COTBDAA helps make sure Coloradans know how to prevent tick bites and seek appropriate care.
What They’re Up To
COTBDAA has been instrumental in improving patient outcomes by providing resources that guide patients to accurate diagnostics and treatment. Their early intervention efforts have made a real difference in preventing long-term or life-threatening complications for those affected by tick-borne diseases. They also:
Raise awareness about the importance of tick-bite prevention.
Provide support to those struggling with delayed diagnoses or inadequate treatment.
Offer educational materials and resources to schools, medical communities, and the public.
Their work has helped change lives across Colorado by educating the community and offering vital support to those impacted by these diseases.
Where the Moonlight Monday Funds Go
Funds raised during their Moonlight Monday will be used to continue their work in providing resources and educational materials for tick-borne disease prevention. Moonlight Pizza & Brewpub is proud to support this initiative, helping to spread awareness and make Colorado a safer place.
What’s Next for COTBDAA?
COTBDAA is always looking for ways to expand their prevention efforts. One of their goals is to create Spanish-language versions of all their printable education materials, making their resources more accessible to a wider audience.
